From the beginning: Opened in 1983, this what was once a single dining room, tiny unknown restaurant. Since then it has become one of the best undiscovered local favorites on the Eastside. With an exclusively local clientele, we have remained extremely low-key until this last year after being discovered by such awards and "best of" lists including such publishers as Citysearh, Evening Magazine, the Stranger, Seattle Weekly, the Seattle Times and the P.I.. Calabria has now become a multi-dining room establishment with banquet facilities, piano longe, wine room and cocktail bar - undoubtably making us one of Kirklands best kept secrets.
Now that we are looking into our 12th year of business, we are ever-growing in our facilities, culinary and professional experience as well as dedication to authentic european culture on the eastside.
As several critics have snobbily bashed Calabria's style and cusine - but for a educated opinion, just ask born and raised Calabria owner, Rhonda Bafaro - a 40 year veteran from the old-country with experience and taste to match. We are authentic and fun, not trendy and fad-oriented.
